125 fb 2016, choke lever wont stay in position

    by Poonjavi » Sun Jan 12, 2020 2:19 pm

    Thanks in advance.
New to me bike, choke lever seems like it’s missing a spring, it’s floppy and won’t stay in position. Anyone know the reason?
    Thanks.

What bike is that? A carb'd bike has an easily replaceable enrichener knob that unscrews with a 14 mm wrench. A fuel injected bike, I don't know.

A Honda crf125 fb, 2016 per the sticker.
The black lever has 3 positions that stay in place. Mine is only in one position. There’s no tension holding it in position.

Are you missing part 7, 12, or 20?

I have those. Thanks for that.
Does yours stay in the middle if you leave it alone or does it switch to open or closed when you are not touching it?

Did you every find the answer to this? I just got a new-to-me CRF125 that is having the same problem. The black plastic choke switch doesn't say in the "up" position. The metal lever part of the switch is spring loaded, and that works, but I can't seem to see how the plastic switch interfaces with it to be held in the up position. Maybe part of it is broken? If someone has a close up photo of how it is normally supposed to look maybe I could figure it out. I was able to use a zip tie to hold it into the correct position, but that's a crappy fix.

I just purchased a 2014 125 and the same problem. I pulled off the aluminum bracket and bent it in a little to hold the position. It works much better now. The throttle seems to be a little high now that I have the choke squared away. Always something to work on!
