New to the 4 stroke seen and i inherited a 2008 crf450x street legal bike. It looks like the airbox snorkel is out and i assume it had jd jetting because it came with the old jetts in a jd box.i have been riding it about 10 miles on the street to get to the trails.. It has a 13/51 sprocket combo and the trail tech states 67mph top speed??..when im doing 67mph it seems maxxed out and all it has without blowing the motor. Does this seem right??

Im not a racer by any means. Again just like to play around in the woods and street.is there any proven recommendations on how to make this bike faster without major motorwork but still have the bottom end torque?gears, pipe and etc.thanks in advance!!!

Welcome to the site !! \:D/

13/51 should be fine for the occasional street use , i am geared 13/52 (lower than yours) and can easily do 75+ without getting near the limiter , i would check the speedo setting in the Trail Tech , go thru the menu and check the numbers , i am guessing your wheel size number should be around "2197" , to verify this ,

On a flat surface , mark the tire sidewall and the ground with a marking pen

Roll the wheel until the mark on the wheel completes 1 revolution and is in the same position as started , mark the ground here

Measure the distance between the marks in Millimeters , take that measurement(you can multiply inches by 25.4 to convert to mm if you don't have a tape that measures in mm)

Use this number for your wheel size (it should be between 2110 to 2200 or so) *i am guessing around 2197 give or take is where you will end up depending on tire brand , air pressure etc*

To check the Trail Tech for the tire size:

Hold the 3 buttons down at the same time to get to the setup menu (hold for 3 at least seconds)

Next go thru the menu (Mode button) , it should be Distance Units first (it will say Units in the lower right corner) , this should be set to M/H , if not press left button till it does , then press MODE , it will move to next setting , this should be Wheel Size , default should be 2110 , to change the numbers , Left Button to modify number , Right Button to go to the next number in line , to confirm setting is Mode

Once you are done just cycle thru the rest of the menu's till it goes back to normal mode (Mode button), OR , let the Trail Tech sit a few minutes and it will go back to normal mode and shut down on its own

    Hope this helps !!! ;)
