    Brake Switch

    by 05CRFJOE » Wed Mar 18, 2015 10:34 am

Hey guys. New guy to the forums here. I've got a 05 CRF230F. Trying to decide what kind of switch I want to run for my front brake lever to activate my brake light. I've seen hydraulic brake switches and I've seen a whole master cyl/brake lever integrated switch. Just seeing what you guys have used and what y'all have the best luck with.

I see that CRF's Only sells a hydraulic switch that replaces the banjo bolt on either the caliper or master cylinder, but it seems like no body has much luck with it. Maybe someone could prove them wrong? Thanks in advance for the help guys.

Many of the failures to the rear brake light switches (Not specifically the ones sold by CRFsOnly) have been attributed to their close proximity to the exhaust system and the heat generated thereby. I have used the ProCycle hydraulic units on both the front and rear of my D/S 230Fs without issue. I am using Tusk Racings wire harness for a 250X and it plugs right in. You may have to build your own leads for the OEM 230 harness to plug into.
