i recently went to put my transmission together and the mainshaft shifting fork sits fine in the drum, but i cant get the countershaft fork to engage the drum when the alignment pin is in. any thoughts?

couple of questions. 1. are you using the manual to put the trans back together? 2. what was the reason for tearing into the trans?

are you confident you put it back together correctly? all of the washers need to be in the correct order and orientation. if you are confident you may have damaged parts.

MAKER SURE ALL WASHERS ARE IN THE RIGHT PLACES!!! Even though the seem small one misplaced washer will bind up everything. Also
the Clymer should get you through it pretty well as i have used it before.. Send us some pictures of it together from different angles..
