Has anyone gone with a Big Bore Kit on there 250? I was considering selling my bike and going after the 450 but to be honest I love my "07" carburated CF250R beast I actually put it up and turned down a buyer. Anyway I was going to just make it a winter project and really beef it up with some good mods, some porting/polishing, and a full exhaust. Any suggestions and input is appreciated as well as any advice.. Thanks in advance.

P.S. I really hate winter

Thanks Ken, I really appreciate it. I still may wind up with the 450R but I figure it would be a cool winter project to see what I can make this thing do. I really do love my 07

Ive heard that it puts alot of extra stress on the crank. I would consider porting and a cam before I did a big bore.

My 09 is ported and I am very happy with its power. A 450 would have much more but I couldnt possibly take advantage of all of it so the 250 is perfect for me.

Yea I'm gonna change the whole bottom end to top end and valves. I'm really doing it to see how much I can get out of this thing if done right. I will end up with the 450 anyway but winters in NJ are too cold to ride so if you ride and can wrench then you usually pull that thing apart over the winter anyway. Well at least thats what most guy's I know do sice they can't ride. It keeps me sane too with the 3 little guys and my wife.. well you get the picture LOL I love them all to death but my bike doesn't wine, yell, or ask for things so I find my quiet time with it

You need a sled! Chances are you'd change you're mind! I love my dirt bike, but I also love my sled. take pictures of the build and update if you can!

You need a sled! Chances are you'd change you're mind! I love my dirt bike, but I also love my sled. take pictures of the build and update if you can!

I will definitely take pics as she progresses. Ken's gonna do some work on her for me so it will be cool because at the end of the day it will be a CRF-Only bike for the most part. I've been doing little things for the past couple months like changed the wheel bearings, took apart and re-greased linkage which I may change over the winter.

i haven't done this on my personal bikes but i have ridden bikes with ISF treated transmissions. smooth as silk! we offer this service so if you are splitting your cases it would be a good time to consider this for your trans.

Wow thats great news Ken, I am getting out this weekend to ride for probably the last time this season so I would expect to get the motor out within a few weeks after. I amalready sending you my head for porting, polishing and valve work so shoot me an email for pricing on the gears.

yes definitely. they will do anything to reduce friction and heat.
