    '02 xr100r Question

    by stpt » Sun Jul 12, 2009 5:08 pm

I recently installed an exhaust tip on my son's xr100r and since it has been having some bog issues. Today after starting up it began sputterring and eventually shut down, it then took forever to restart but ran fine after I took it out and really opened it up.

This is the tip i installed: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/3D-CNC-B ... ccessories

The rest of the bike completley stock.

I was thinking that it may need rejetting, but have no idea where to start, any suggestions welcomed.

Drop the clip on the needle one position, bump the main jet up to a 102 or a 105 (99101-GHB-1020 or 99101-GHB-1050) and bump the pilot to a 38 or a 40 (99104-KN4-0380 or 99104-KN4-0400).

    Thanks AS

I was thinking of getting the K&N filter from CRF's Only, do you know If I can get the jets from here as well? and would you still recommend the same changes suggested above?

Great service from CRFsonly!! Jets came in today as well as twin air filter for the xr100r.

I started with the 102 main and the 38 slow and the needle already had the clip dropped one position (was in 4th groove from top) so i did not change the clip. Installed rejetted carb and new filter and opened up airbox, removing snorkle. The bike ran much better with no bog and was easier to start, but now it has a popping sound when slowing down (engine braking) or in between shifts.

Would going to the 40 slow jet help this or make it worse??

    Thanks

Try opening the fuel screw up 1/8 to 1/4 of a turn. That should cure the decel pop.

If not, bump the pilot to a 40.
