    dificulty starting

    Hey everyone

im new to the crf230, just got a new 09. the dealer added some extras ,pro circuit t4 full system , honda jet kit and a aftermarket airfilter.

the thing is bike seems difficult to start, and after it is warmd up if your not on the gass hard it tends to die , for the 1st 30min of riding after that its fine doesnt do it all the time though, is this a jetting issue or something else it gets worse after riding through water and once it dies it wont start unless you put the choke on full. :? or is all this just because the bike is still brand new?

Hey, i bought a brand new 230 a couple years ago, and never had trouble startin it. If honda put the upgrades in, i dont know why it would give you trouble. mine is still stock, and always starts, sometimes takes a little bit to warm up, but nothing out of the ordinary. i want to put in some new jets, let me know if you find out whats wrong.......i would definitely take it back to honda and have them check it out..........good luck......Don

If you paid for the jetting to be done by the dealer talk to them first.
Sounds like idle circuit is too lean have you tried opening up idle mixture screw 1/2 turn.
