    In need of help!!!

    Hi everyone,
I just bought a CRF 50 for my daughter, it's a 2005. Im kind of new to the dirt bike scene,so please excuse my questions. The person I got it from said he used the lowest octane in it like 87 i believe, and he said he had a hard time keeping it going. I put 93 octane in it but still no good. He told me he adjusted the idle, but he to said he didnt know much about bikes. I saw 2 screws on the side of the carb. I turned the top screw and got it to stay running, but the bottom screw didnt make a difference in the idle. Anyone know the factory settings on both screws? Also when you shift it, WOW does it kick into gear, even sitting on it and shifting into first gear when the idle seems low. Im sorry for the long story!!!

I'm having the same issue with mine. I cleaned the carb and now it is a little better. Still need to just crack the choke to get it to run and it kind os putters some. I'm going to change the spark plug, but I probably did not clean the carb well enough. I did not touch the idel screws at all.

    It's also an 05 CRF 50.

With small motors the exhaust can get clogged. Remove and clean the baffle.
Do the same with the air filter. These bikes are virtually indestructible I doubt you will need to open the engine but the flow to and from it need to be clean.
