    First Race Results

    by Gill250X » Wed May 23, 2007 10:48 am

Well, I figure everyone likes to hear stories of our beloved bikes bringing home the hardware;) I entered my first harescramble (and any kind of race on a dirt bike) on Sunday. I was not anticipating it being two hours long...wow, what a test of endurance! Anyway, when the dust cleared I walked away with a nice 4th place trophy in my class (yes there were more than 4 people racing...there were 20). I feel like I am still just learning how to ride and have a lot to learn so I was very pleased with my showing. 3rd place was 20 seconds ahead of me...he will be mine next time as I just got my JD kits, fuel screw and rad guards today!

That's great. I want to race but there doesn't seem to be much in my area. I'll keep looking. Go Honda. :)

That's pretty impressive for your first outing. Great bike doesn't hurt.

Thanks all...my hands and forearms have never hurt that bad in my life.

I must thank you, Jaws, for the help you gave me last week on the stock carb setup while I was waiting for my JD. I dropped the clip one click, put in a 42 pilot and turned out the fuel screw. This really helped the bike's overall performance, especially in the steep muddy and rocky sections of the course.

To my surprise, I was one of the few red bikes out there compared to all the KTM's! I had no idea KTM's were as popular as they were...at least for this kind of race.

You're welcome. If you like it now, wait until you get the JD installed and get all of your mods finished up.
