This link is about replacing seals, but it should get you on the right track on replacing the springs. Get a shop manual...you won't regret it.

15/16 or 24mm will remove the rebound nut...do this first to drain your oil.

Large channel locks work if you do not have the $$ to spend on a 50mm tool for the compression chamber assy.

Clamp the fork in a vise
heat up the outer tube...not too hot
The assembly will unscrew very easily.
    Remove the internal assembly
turn the forks upside down and the spring will fall out.
Let the forks drip dry a bit then shove a clean non-lint cloth into the lower fork tube to clean it a little.
    Add your new spring
    re-install the internal component assembly
    hand tighten it
add 12oz of oil to each fork leg from the rebound side
    re-install the rebound nut
    Then go ride!!

IMPORTANT...When you re-install the compression unit DO NOT TIGHTEN...JUST SNUG IT DOWN BY HAND

I replaced my fork springs yesterday without removing the forks from the bike. I didn't even take off the front wheel. I think it was much easier. :D
