Lacing rear rim where do the long spokes go?

    by 05CRF450R » Tue Mar 20, 2007 3:20 am

When I started to install a new rear rim my old nipples would not come off so I cut the spokes not realizing that there are 2 different size spokes. Does anyone know where the long spokes go? Do they all go on the sprocket side, the brake disc side, the under spokes on each side, or the over spokes on each side?

The 06420-KRN-710 go on the Disc rotor side.

The 06421-KRN-710 go on the Sprocket side.

There is a video from Excel, free on the web of how to lace and true a wheel. It was a huge help the first time I laced a wheel.

~ what #'s are you refering to? I am replacing a stock rim with an Excel rim and I can not find those #'s anywhere.

He is giving you the stock Honda spoke numbers. They will work with the Excel rims.

MotoZack I believe you are right I relaced it last night putting the long spokes as the underspoke on both the disc and sprocket side and it worked.
