Off idle bog won't go away

    by redaddiction » Sat Mar 10, 2007 4:23 pm

I've did the power up kit with a 132 main and a 45 pilot. It's all uncorked with a Twin Air filter. I just received my crfsonly fule screw and installed it. But, no matter how far out I turn it, it still bogs off idle when I hit the throttle fast. It doesn't affect me while riding since the rpms are high enough, even at a crawl, and I can get on the throttle and it is fine. But it is just annoying the hell out of me that it does that when I'm just messing with the bike in the garage and give the throttle a quick twist. Is this just something I will have to live with or are there other factors that I'm not considering.

It's something that you'll have to live with or swap out a different carburator. The Carb on the 230 has no accelerator pump, so that bog will probably always be there.

Ah! I figured that. Thanks. So what is the big hype with switching the fuel screw out? When/why would I need to adjust it?

I have the same probelm on my 230 while it's cold but as soon as she is warmed up the bogg goes away. Does yours do it after it warm too? I didn't chage the pilot just the main and needle/.

Yeah it still does it when warm. Hey Krisrtch, do you want to sell your stock fork tubes. I went riding today and smacked dead center on a tree with my front tire, pretty hard. Luckily I was not hurt. I hit the tree, and the bike and I flew about 5 feet back. Almost did a backward front flip, if that makes any sense! Let's just say....I have less rake in my front end now.

    Hey Red,
I still have the stock forks and triple clamps was gonna keep just in case I need to have work done on my kyb's. But we might be able to work something out. They are just taking up space right now. I also have the front wheel with stock tire on it. basiclly the whole front end Only thing I kept was the handle bars but those are soon to go. Make me a offer.

Did you open the exhaust or install a better breathing pipe? Is the airbox opened up too...you can cut the hell out of it on the right side and hide it under the side cover...What goes in has to come out.....

I pulled the baffle out of the exhaust. Airbox snorkle removed also.

I could use the front hub. Let me know if you want to part that out to me. Thanks.
