    Vapor trailtech help

    by malder » Mon Dec 25, 2006 11:58 am

Just got it for christmas and am trying to get it installed. As I'm sure no one is around at trailtech (nor should they be) - hopefully some of you are bored at your christmas party!

Where should I ground the tach? Is there somewhere that I can tap into the bike's wiring? The instructions (http://www.trailtech.net/store/media/in ... ctions.pdf) seem to say that I can just splice into any green wire. Am I reading that right?

For the power circuit do I need to take the red wire all the way back to the battery? There doesn't seem to be enough wire with the kit. Is there anywhere in the front of the bike that I can splice into for power? My volt meter is not showing any voltage anywhere...

    Thanks!

You will need to have the bike running to measure any voltage. As for the ground, there doesn't appear to be one (at least according to the link). Otherwise look for a bolt that attaches to the frame. Good luck!

I got it working. I used the headlight wiring to power/ground the unit. There is a green ground to the headlight and the blue is hot.
