If this is an off-road bike add more saddle time. Either a 3.2 or 4.0 Gallon IMS tank.

i saw a crotch rocket that had white body with a red frame/swingarm..it looked pretty sweet. here's a picture from TCR:

they can anodize any color. they wiuld need the frame for 5 days to pull it off...with shipping it could be 8-9 business days not counting disassembly and assembly.

Hey Ken, if you go red on the frame you'll definately have to limit the number of red parts otherwise you'll end up with the monotone effect.

agreed...my personal taste is light on the color. our 450x has the black rekluse cover and red 'treats' to set it off. black for me says it's all business. lets keep the ideas flowing for now.

I think the overall color scheme should look like this.

I personally think that this is the cleanest looking bike i have ever seen. I saw it at the S.F. Supercross and fell in love

Perhaps a David Bailey Replica ala 1986? A classic....

I don't have a great eye for bling, but if there were enough interest in anodizing the frame, what about trying to match the dark gold color of the upper forks? This might set off both black and red accents pretty well. I took a shot at what it might look like in PhotoShop. Some black rims might go well with this scheme. The red kickstarter may be a bit much.

Me too, I think the frames on these bikes are one of the most attractive things about them just as they are. Doug

    Hi Ken,
Use the skills of the likes of FB and before you make the final choice edit in photo shop so we have a good idea what is good and what is to much.
FB has some amazing skills and we can look at the many options black black, White red , Black Red,
FB hope you do not mind me dropping this on you but you have the skills in this area and a lot of time and money would be saved if the idea was in detail and clear.

fb you have some great photoshop skills! this is great discussion about appearance. i' a bit surprised that jos's post didn't generated more response. that is a very trik looking crf. here's the picture again:

    Image

a couple of things i noticed on it.

    1. the fork tubes have been anodized black
    2. the shock body also anodized black, spring may also be black. red would have looked good
    3. the head/cylinder and valve cover...also black
    4. the water pump and clutch cover also black. the clutch cover looks to be carbon fiber
    5. it looks like the radiators are black too
    6. red radiator hoses - http://www.cv4.net/4moto
    7. rg3 link
    8. red triple clamp
    9. seat: white side, black top
    10. ALL white plastics
    11. rim: red hubs, red rims with silver rim trim

so what do you all think about this look?

I've probably said it before but here goes again. Subtle with the anodizing. The recessed lettering on either side of the cases and valve cover ('HONDA'
'UNICAM' 'MAGNESIUM') can all be highlighted very easily with Rustoleum priemium black paint. Spray some in a small container, brush several coats into the letters and wipe the excess off with a little Goof Off or something similar on a rag. It looks real factory
works-ish. Detail and some subtle bling that's the ticket. But if it has to be a study in anodizing, mix it up a little; black and red. OEM plastic, CRFsOnly graghics, black seat.

I just saw a great picture of One Industries David Bailey kit for the 450R, and I thought it was gorgeous, it even had the blue seat CR's of the era had. Doug
