    2020 125F Fork Oil

    by LineC » Sat Jul 17, 2021 11:51 am

Got a fork seal changed on my 2020 CRF125F. I can't find anywhere what weight oil or capacity I need to use. Any help?

I can't even find where to buy an online service manual.

Welcome to the site !! \:D/

I am not 100% , but I believe those forks use 10 wt. and around 300cc of oil in each give or take , you may need more depending on your weight , you would have to ride it and if you notice any bottoming , then add 5cc at a time till you do not bottom , total that with what you originally added , and that is where I would keep it .....

Your best bet is to call your local Honda Dealer , they should have a Service Manual onsite , and be able to give you the exact specs (Just call and ask for the Service Dept.... Then tell them what you need , and they should look it up for you) , they might do the fork oil by height and not amount in those ... not 100% sure ... , you can also buy the Service Manual direct from them , for somewhere between $30-$50 I would imagine , as it does not cost much more than that for a 450 Service Manual .... ;)

Sorry could not be of more help , been a while since I messed with small bike Conventional forks :-k Maybe Ray can chime in as he likes those little bikes , and usually has lots of info on them ... 8-[ ... But in the meantime I would definitely call the dealer and they should be able to get you everything you are looking for .... The guys that really work with those bikes is BBR , they do a lot of mods to them and sell suspension stuff for them , so they should also have specs for it ...

I say either contact dealer as Jim said or get yourself the workshop manual which will provide further useful info about other things as well.

Normally expressed as cc and distance from top generally fully extended and vertical.

If you have had only one fork seal changed then measure the distance on the other fork. Think early was 10 wt oil but over the last few years forks seem to have gone to 5 wt.
Personally have found 10wt seems best in conventional forks.
