    Sticking Throttle

    by Lance_wnc » Sat Jan 20, 2024 8:45 am

I’m losing my mind. So 2023 300L. Installed new protaper SE bars. Used the tape method for the control hole to be drilled. (I know it’s not necessary some people just use rubber tape). I was going to use the pro taper locking grips, but apparently they don’t have cams that are compatible with the CRF 300. I used one on the left side but that’s irrelevant. Put the throttle tube back on centered the bars up put the controls on on the throttle side and everything was working fine. Throttle snaps back just fine and then I snugged up the control screws and now the throttle stick it won’t go back to idle if I loosen those screws up a little bit on the controls it’s fine, but then the controls are loose and Roll. Has anybody ran into this issue or have any recommendations? Someone told me to put some tape underneath them but that seems like it would make it worse by making the diameter bigger other people said sand down the bars a bit. I’m at a loss. I ordered a billet throttle tube which hasn’t arrived yet. Which I’m hoping will resolve the issue but me being me I’d like to figure out what is causing this.
