So just looked at a 250l. Bike looks fantastic other than tail light and blinker assembly gone -1. I think it was wrecked and given a salvaged title -2 ...the headlight has a tie wrap on it -3. The muffler is slightly bruised -4. Probably could use a new rear tire soon -5. The main concern is it dies out on the low end. Once up in RPMs it runs great. Idles fine...just kinda spudders when trying to start moving or at low RPM. It absolutely seems like a fuel issue. I know nothing about EFI. I did read a blog that had same problem same bike and indicated a new injector fixed it. I can't find an injector for sale.
Seller said it was running great and he stored it for a couple of months, then it wouldn't run right.
Anyway the engine, plastics, sprockets, chain, etc. all look great. You could eat off the engine. I could get the bike for 1600 cash, but wasn't looking for a project. It seems like a lot of bike for that amount and I'm thinking cleaning the fuel tank and injector might have it humming.

Any thoughts on making the purchase before someone else?

Welcome to the site !! \:D/

The first thing I would check into before thinking about buying it , is what your state DMV policy is on a (if it is salvaged) salvaged Title , and also what your Insurance company thinks about a (if it is) branded/salvaged titled , you may not be able to insure it , so that may hinder being able to actually ride it on the road ..... each state is different , so that plays a factor for both DMV and Insurance , since IF it was "Totaled" , by any insurance company , the records will be there for them to see , and it may (or may not) cause a issue , so that is most important before you worry about anything else , since if you can't operate it on the road or can't get insurance for it , then anything you pay may be a complete waste of money , if all is well , then go ahead .... but make sure you check into that before moving forward ..... if you are worried about the guy selling it on you , see (in writing) if he will take a small deposit till you gather the info , then if there is a issue , he can give a refund .... otherwise , I would pass if he is insistent and not willing to allow you to investigate into the history of the bike before purchasing ....

With that said ..... I would suspect that sitting for a few months means the gas is bad and needs to be flushed out , and either the injector cleaned , or replaced depending on cost for each (there are shops that will test and clean your injector) , but that is the most likely suspect for the running like you are describing ...........
