    2014 CRF250L Odometer Issue

    by jackietreehorn76 » Thu Jun 04, 2020 7:46 am

I recently purchased a used 2014 CRF250L. The seller said the bike had about 2,000 miles on it, but the odometer only reads 200. He said that around 1,800 miles, the odometer reset itself to zero and he didn't know why. It's possible he hacked it and reset it, but pretty unlikely as the original tires are still on and there's not a lot of wear.

The odometer is currently working and the mileage is going up, but I'm wondering if there's a way to reset it to the original mileage or a way to read the original mileage? Or, is this part of a different issue with the odometer or the speedo system? Any insights or ideas would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

Hi Jackytreehorn76 and welcome to the site.
I would suggest if you have got an owners manual try this
    https://powersports.honda.com/downloads/owners-manuals

I would hazard a guess it maybe displaying a trip distance.
Have a read, I assume it will have a section on using the speedometer/ odometer functions.

    Baffle out, Screens In

It starts,it runs,it gets to where all CRFs can get to without the valve or valve plate dramas
