    CRF 250L rear sprocket bolts

    by md1day » Wed Apr 29, 2020 6:02 am

Hey. I am helping my son change his chain/sprockets this weekend on his 2015 CRF 250L. I don’t have access to his bike until it’s time to work. What tools (wrench sizes) will I need for removing the front/rear sprockets. I think the axle requires a 19mm/24mm, if not please correct. Thanks. Also, any tricks/tips would be appreciated.

Welcome to the site !! \:D/

Unfortunately I only have a PDF of the Owners Manual , and it does not have a lot of info and the pictures are not that great , but it looks like the front sprocket bolts are 10mm , the rear looks to be a Allen with a nut on the back so I am guessing a 6mm or 7mm or 8mm allen and a 13 or 14mm wrench for the nut , as 8mm with a 14mm wrench would be standard for a 250/450 CRF R or X) .....the cover for the front sprocket looks to be 8mm ..... That is about the best info I can give .... sorry .......................... , but , if you call the dealer they can give you all the bolt sizes as well as the torque specs , as you need the torque specs to tighten everything correctly , and I do not have that info currently .... Hope that helps some 8-[
