new sprocket for 2006 CRF 250X

    by Cliff » Thu May 17, 2007 9:18 pm

I noticed that I am missing a tooth on my rear sprocket.
Does that mean I have to buy a new rear and front sprocket, and a new chain?
Or can I get away with just a front and rear sprocket without having to buy a chain?
What brand do you recommend for optimum value?
    Thanks!

You shouldn't put a new on sprocket and use an old chain unless you want to wear the sprocket out faster. Same goes for a new chain on old sprockets. You can do it but you will be replacing long before you should.

Lots of people do it, it's just not the best thing to do. It also depends on how worn your chain and sprockets are.
