    Battery question

    by Ray » Mon Apr 23, 2007 4:19 pm

I will be getting a new battery for the 230 (Yuasa), and I'm thinking about getting a charger. Which charger is better the Battery Tender Plus or the Yuasa SmartShot?, or does it really matter? Probably splitting hairs but thought I'd check anyway.

Is the Yuasa better than the stock 250X battery? If so than I am I better off putting the Yuasa in my 250X and putting my stock 250X battery in my 230? I ride my 250X way more than the 230, sometimes use the 230 for riding with my son. Maybe another year and he will be on the 230. If they had a 150X I'd consider that and sell the 230. Starting to ramble. Thanks.

The Yuasa should be better than your OEM battery. As far as chargers, I don't think it'll make a difference. Any quality trickle charger with an auto shutoff will work.

I got my battery from Batteries plus. More than a year, no problems for something like $30. If any battery lasts more than 3 years, I would be suprised. Whenever mine dies, I figure I am still ahead of the game. I got my battery charger (trickle charger with lead tucked into the airbox) at Batteries plus as well, though Ken sells them here.
