Break In with or without mods?

    by san210crf250 » Wed Apr 11, 2007 8:51 pm

First of all thank you guys for a great site, I have spent hours reading and researching mods for my bike. I recently purchased a 2006 CRF250X and put a dual sport kit on it and made it street legal (nice to get from house to trail without loading). I have also lowered the bike with Kouba Link and Seat modification (I am 5'5"). I am in the break in process and I have the following sitting here and wondering if I should intall it now or let the bike break in more:

    TwinAir powerflow kit
    JD Jetting kit
    Fuel Screw
    Boyeson Accelerator Pump

    In addition:
    Cut Air box per CCC
    Drill baffle

    Thanks for any advice!!

Do it now. Just don't go with synthetic oils until about 200 miles or so.. :) Since the bikes are very lean as delivered, you will be generating unnecessary heat during the breakin if you wait.

definitely make sure you at the very least install the jetting kit. running it in lean would not be a good thing.
