I am trying to figure out the suspension setup on my 06 250x. I am an intermediate rider and weigh 185 lbs. I ride mostly light motocross and single track offroad. The rear set up seems to be ok (as far as i am able to tell) but the front seems to be super soft on any flat landings and in the whoops. is there something I can do to set this up different? and if I change the front does it have a direct effect on how the rear operates?

Keith, I am about the same size as you and I re sprung mine with .44 and 5.1, wow what a difference. It was always super plush but I felt I was not getting the weight transfer from the back to front. Since the spring swap I have not had a hint of the front tire washing out on me and the front tire comes up so much easier.

I am also about the same size and weight. I have both an R and an X. The X forks are squishy mainly because the fork springs are too light for our weight. Particularly on an MX track. The 250R has .44's in it and they work much better.

But the .44 fork springs MAY seem more harsh over braking bumps, etc. That could also be due to the valving in the '07 R. Could also be my bad technique.. lol.

But respringing it will make life much better for you. You may also want to consider a stiffer shock spring.
