    Hey all,

    First of all great site. Quick question on jetting. I want to re-jet but cant afford the JD kit, I am getting married in a month. I have been calling around trying to get some numbers for jets, needles, etc. but they keep refereing me to the CCC specs, Jet, Main (#152),Jet, Leak (#70). To me this sounds great for track riding. However I live and ride in the desert and want to know if the CCC jetting mods would be alright for open desert riding at 3500'. I also plan on doing the airbox mod, exhaust diffuser, and pink wire mod. Any guidance would be appreciated.

    Do the airbox mod, exhaust baffle, change the air filter to a Twin Air flame retardant model, and remove the backfire screen.

    Jet as follows:
    Pilot Jet #42 Honda PN# 99103-440-0420
    Main Jet #152 Honda PN# 99101-357-1520
    Needle Set Honda PN# 16204-MEN-671

    optional (probably not needed)
    Leak Jet #70 Honda PN# 99108-KRN-0700

    Set the needle on the 4th clip from the top.

    Replace fuel screw with an adjustable "T" handle available here at CRF's Only. Set it to 2 turns out.

    If you have some bog off idle after all that, there is an AP mod that can be done to eliminate it. PM me with your e-mail and i'll send you the PDF file.

    Here's what i did to my son's;

    1) Took out Baffle on stock exhaust
    2) Main jet 158
    3) Pilot 42
    4) Leak jet 55
    5) Needle clip on the 3rd from the top(Did not change needle set)
    6) Opened Air box as per the Closed Course Competion 250x Bulletin
    7) Air Screew at 2 turns
    -8) Also, i installed the Scary Fast Power Now Kit on the the Carb/Head side.
    -9) Boysen power shot valve!!

    Bike runs night and day difference, the last too items i dont really know if they were worth the money. With out the last two items it should be under $40 bucks!!!

    Thanks for the advice. I went with the set up ~ suggested and everything turned out great. I was a little imitated about working on the carb but as it turned out it wasn't all that bad. Now the my bike runs and performs great. I should have done this a long time ago.
