230L help for a bike illiterate

    by ebcox17 » Mon Dec 16, 2019 1:52 pm

I know almost nothing about dirt bikes, so I'm sorry this is going to be really elementary. I'm fairly mechanically minded. I just don't know where to start on a bike. I've got a bike that's sat for a couple years. Today I got it out and cleaned it up to try to sell it. I was moving it around just fine but then I bumped into the left side and suddenly the rear wheel locked and started dragging. What did I do?

Hi ecbox17 and welcome to the site.

I am thinking you were moving the bike around in neutral and have bumped the gearshift either up or down from the neutral position.

If you have a look in the owners manual in should give you info about gear positions. First is normally down with neutral one click up and the rest of the gears above that.

    Hope that helps.

It starts,it runs,it gets to where all CRFs can get to without the valve or valve plate dramas
