A mosque at Ground Zero? Could there be a more deafening smack to the face of survivors?

I believe the well intentioned but soft headed supporters of this are very naive.. Make no mistake.. This is planting the flag at the site of a great victory. Even assuming this is not the intent, this is how this mosque is being perceived. Consider the equivalent, a group of zany Christian extremists, with questionable ties to the US government and who enjoy widespread support among an unknown percentage of the Christian world, attack and destroy the Great Mosque in Mecca.. On the 10th anniversary of the attack a US funded Episcopalian Cathedral is opened at the site as " an act of healing". How do you think that will play in Mecca?
