Lay-off letter from an excellent boss.

    Dear Employees:

As the CEO of this organization, I have resigned myself to the fact that Barrack Obama is our President and that our taxes and government fees will increase in a BIG way.

To compensate for these increases, our prices would have to increase by about 10%. But since we cannot increase our prices right now due to the dismal state of the economy, we will have to lay off sixty of our employees instead.

This has really been bothering me since I believe we are family here and I didn't know how to choose who would have to go.

So, this is what I did. I walked through our parking lots and found sixty 'Obama' bumper stickers on our employees' cars and have decided these folks will be the ones to let go. I can't think of a more fair way to approach this problem. They voted for change...... I gave it to them.

I will see the rest of you at the annual company picnic.

    THE BOSS

gettin laid off is the easy punishment. i usually dont chime in on the political forum, but i have to say the current state of affairs is depressing. I am in the carpenters union and began working on childrens hospital los angeles in may of 2006 for what used to be a very stable general contractor. for close to 3 and a half years i worked on this 700,000,000$ project. beginning with concrete form work, then layout, even a year as job site safety coordinator(yeah bamm safety guy  ). this was the first real job id been on and i have to say that building became a part of me. at 3/4 completion 500 of the workers on the job were layid off due to the government reneging on the grant they promised. 500 hard working men went home to tell their families that they were now un employed. they kept me on in hopes that money would come through and production would pick up.
two months later i was called in on my day off and given my layoff check. i could see the strain in the senior superintendents face as he handed me and my father our checks. i went back for a few weeks only to get laid off again, there is just no work.
it pisses me off to see so much of our tax money going to help people that wont help them selves while hard working men are sent home to wonder how our families will survive. thank fully my wife is a registered nurse, so well still do well, but that hospital meant something to me ,as did thousands of other jobs lost by hard working men, so our government can provide for illegals, crack heads and bums!
my pay rate is 34 $ an hour how can i compete with the illegal that will work for 12$ and hour with no benefits? and shame on the contractors that hire them.
    NOW WE NEED CHANGE!!!
