Making a 450X street legal in California

    by Camathlon » Tue Apr 14, 2009 3:53 pm

I have a 2005 450X that I just cant seem to get out as much as I would like to. I have considered buying a street bike but man...a Super Moto would be amazing. I live in California and heard that there is nothing you can do to make the bike street legal in this state. Anyone have some insight on the subject?

    Appreciate any feedback :D

why wait? you think there will be a change in the laws? I considered the "register it out of state" thing, just seems like a lot of work and heard that you can have your bike impounded if they find that it stays in CA. Its soooo crazy to me that I can ride the thing on the side of the road all year round (green sticker) but not on the road under any circumstances!

Seems like there would be a work around other than registering out of state.

What i meant was, once registered in another state keep it registered in that state for a year or so, then do the transfer. Or at least thats what i have heard how to do it. So take it for what its worth. Personally, I just ride on the paved roads to get from one trailhead to the next, and when i see a ranger i just wave as i go by.
