Son finally outgrowing his 100f what next?

My son will be 16 and is finally out growing the size of his 100F. Yeah he’s only 5’5” 110lbs, but finally growing quick. Looking for recommendations on what to move him up to.

    Riding style/skill level.

We ride trails with moderate to steep loose rocky hills. Skill wise still fairly novice, but uses the 100 to most of its capabilities. He bottomed the shock out several times on the last ride. He’s still a very cautious and deliberate rider, so nothing too powerful as that will most likely scare him off still. My 200 XCW is way to tall and the 2t nature would not suit his riding style.

We ride state and private trails 4-6 times a year due to his sports schedule. So price wise it’s going to be a used bike.

Looking at the CRF150F. He rode my friends sons the other day.
Also the 230s CRF, TTR, KLX

Any of those would be good choices , depending on how he physically fits on them ... most likely you would want a "Big Wheel" bike , as some of them will not be any different than what he currently has .... , so having him sit on one will be the best way to judge what he will be most comfortable on , most all keep within the same power as each other , so any F model as opposed to a R for skill level , but size wise , he could even fit on a 250 X or something along those lines

Here is a video that kind of explains what you want to look for when choosing , it goes from 50's to big bikes
