It's a great bike Jacob!!! Welcome to the site.

The bike has good power and is bulletproof. The larger wheels make it an ideal transition bike.

My 13yr old daughter has a CRF 100 and absolutely loves it. She learned to ride on this bike and its had enough for her to improve and continue to enjoy riding. I've seen too many cases of kids starting out on race bikes and either getting disillusioned or frustrated, or even worse - hurt. At some point the CRF100 starts to show its limitations as your skills improve - in particular its a trail bike and doesn't have the suspension to support jumping and getting air. But, when you get to that point, you can consider moving to a next step up and your CRF100 will have great resale value. The only changes we've made to the bike are better levers and gear shifter, rejet and an FMF pipe. Keep the air filter clean, fresh oil, and ride all day long. She was on the bike from morning to night last friday and the bike never missed a beat.

I am kinda embarrassed to admit it, but I race Hare scrambles and there is a kid running in the junior class running a 100. He is untouchable except for one other junior rider on a KTM 85. He outruns the first two classes of adult riders. HS are all about momentum and being smooth in the rough stuff. He always passes me on my CRF150RB. He is scary fast so learn to get all you can get out of it.

I also have a 100F. I just use it to goof around with in the yard and have dumped it so many times and bottomed it out off of jumps but it still starts on the 1st or 2nd kick everytime. :D
The first mods i would make to it are powerup kit and change the sprockets to get more torque out of it. Otherwise the bike is great and won't stop running until your out of gas!
