Ken, just wondering if you have had a chance to do any testing or know of any reports on Trail Tech's new unit the Voyager? I have been contemplating a Vapor or similar for some time now, but this new unit has me sold. Just seeing if there are any reports on how well it works. Thanks

i will be the first to have one prior to release. trail tech has committed one to me for testing as soon as they have the first production unit available. once i have it i will mount it and test it immediately and post the results.

from my discussions with trail tech if this does all they say this will be an outstanding all in one GPS/Speedo/Computer for off-road use.

also, we will be the first to have these in stock as well.

more to follow...

Let me know I am very interested on how I can mount with all the stuff on my handle bars and what typr of protection it has on the controls and screen.

I have a Garmin and love it but I always break it off while riding.

i've been running with a garmin as well with a ram mount. my last trip to moab i was headed back to the staging area and looked down and my garmin was gone! yeah, retraced about 18 miles of trail and found a mountain biker that picked it up.

from what i know now there are two methods for mounting it. the first photo is the standard bar mount. the second photo is the optional triple clamp bracket. also, there isn't an optional billet protector because the unit is built to be off-road bulletproof.

We have the Trail Tech Voyager in stock for the CRF250X and CRF450X. Here's a link:

Haven't personally tested it yet as they are available in limited quantities. Once I do get a test unit I'll be sure to post a review.

Has anyone bought one of these yet? Any reviews? I have not seen good results on other forums.. Maybe just a couple of bad apples. I am also interested. I am planning on getting one for my Birthday (July) but want to see how they are holding up

i haven't personally installed one on my bike yet so keep that in mind. from the off bike introduction, i can tell you it's a well built unit. great integration with the Trail Tech computer features. excellent value as it has the same features of their computer as well as GPS capabilities. if there are negatives it would not having a color screen and not being able to load maps. for most neither of these is a real issue. a quality color screen that can be read in all light conditions would significantly increase the price. the screen is easy to read and is back lit for night operation. not as sexy as color but very functional. while you can't load maps you can save and load tracks. for most this is sufficient. for others who are buying detailed OHV maps of riding areas this will be an issue.

Taking off the trip cable, do i just plug it with something or take off front tire and remove it all?

Take it all off. You don't really need the speed sensor cable, mine works great just using the GPS. Also don't hook up the engine sensor to the spark plug wire. Instead wrap it twice around the coil wire then cut off the excess for the Tach feature to work correctly.

THANKS... WHEN YOU SAY WRAP AROUND THE COIL WIRE TWICE..WOULD THAT BE THE COIL ITS SELF OR THE CLOSER TO COIL?
