    Jethro's Helmet Cam 1st Ride

    by Jethro » Fri Sep 28, 2007 4:15 am

Finally got to try the cam. It was pointed a little low after all the trees and brush slapping me in the face. Still an ok video i guess. If you make it to the end, I put a shot of my face on it. I dont wind up on film often. Had to stop a few times to check up on my buddy.

Not bad. Many of my first vids were the same way. Now that I have the camera position in the right place I put caulk under the mount to stop it from jerking during impacts. Another tip, I caulked a piece from an old pair of safety goggles to cover the recessed lens. Making it easier to clean away mud.

Thats pretty good vid for the price. When possible, you need to think about moving your head slower when you look around. Did you get sound or not? It's nice to hear the motor when watching, as well as the music.
Was it on your helmet with a band or other attachment?

i was trying to move my head slower and less in a second video. i just kept having to look back for dude behind me in that video. i got sound i just didnt put it on that one because that trail is pretty new and there is so much crap grown into it all you could hear for 90% of it is tree branches and shitt slapping the cam and me. sounds like shooting a coffee can with a sling shot. it was actually attached with the supplied rubber band, i just to some stuff a furred under the bracket to make it stable. i just put some music in the vid for radar {the yellow dude} because he wanted it posted somewhere. the vid is so much better before you tube degrades it

it looks like my normal camcorder on the tv and just a little less on the computer. you dont really have all the shadowing until it hits you tube
