Fresh rebuild . Took it to race and it backfired then quit running. Compression low but turns over . Any ideas?

When you say fresh rebuild is that just piston and rings? Or a new crank and or head rebuild?

Did you install a fresh spark plug? Is inside the carb clean?

Sounds like you need to look at the cam timing, just thinking.
