    TIME FOR FUN

    by Sun » Thu Jun 28, 2007 6:30 am

Now that I have spent the last two weeks prepping for "The Oregon Adventure" I am almost ready. I have re-decopauged my 250, I purchased a Susuki DRZ400 Super Motard, I have my truck tent and air mattress, I have borrowed some camping gear newer then mine. I also need to see the chiropractor to fix this nagging pain in my shoulder and neck before I leave. I slept on it wrong and I have been jacked up for days now. I am heading North on Tuesday. I will be spending the 4th in Petaluma with family and then camping with a girl friend who will be following me in her camper up towards Shasta Lake. We will camp Friday and Saturday night somewhere between Redding and the Oregon boarder. Any suggestions? Any nice river side or lakeside campgrounds anywhere? I dont know the places off the 5 that well. And it has been so long since I have done houseboating at Shasta I forget everything. Anyhow....Im pumped up! I went and took my test for my street license yesterday and passed...whew! Now I can cruise without sweating over being pulled over. And dont hate me because Im yellow now. Im still red in the heart and in the dirt. I cant wait to meet everyone and especially cant wait to see you . and share a few laughs and rides. Im still wondering how the shower thing will pan out. I know, I know...you'll pass me around like a dirty, poor bum looking for handouts. Im bringing a case of Huggies wipes and several wash clothes and a bucket. It's amazing what ya do to make things work.

    Sun -

There's some great camping off I-5 near Mt Shasta. Take the HWY 89 towards Reno (FYI: Hwy 89 @ I-5 is 89 miles from Medford). There are several camp grounds within 20 miles of the highway and several near lakes or rivers. Anything near McCloud is great and that little town is worth the drive.

Have a great trip North and drive safe!

We'll see you in a little over a week!

    Brad

PS - Congrats on the new toy!

How sad, she was so excited about going. Hope she recovers quickly.

Yeah, we had her tongue hanging out, but she can ride!. She went through some pretty gnarly sections and she missed one shift, and that was one an easy section. Befree, next year you will be leading the group! :)

Enjoyed meeting you and your family. Looking forward to next year. Tell Don to pratice staying on the bike. :)

So excited while packing for the trip, I forgot to bring the camera! However, there are lots of photos in the 450X forum. After seeing those guys ride and seeing WHAT they ride, I know why all the good trail talk goes on in that forum.

PeteK took a pic of me in a ditch that I still haven't seen. :( It was worth a good laugh, and I'd like to post it as my screensaver if I ever see it.
