    Hand Guards

by Rock Queen » Thu Feb 01, 2007 3:44 pm

I have Cyras on mine and love them. My boyfriend also has the on his 450x and swears by them. I don't remember the model number, but they are not the Dumbo ears ones and they are not the small ones either. The only bummer to them is that they get scratched easily and then don't look as sharp. But hey, that's what they are there for!

    Don't Do it!

I just got back from riding Georgetown with My girlfriend and she was at a complete stop, she lost her footing a little and fell over on dirt, This is the damage falling over at a dead stop does to Asscerbis rally pros

And last week she had a really minor fall and the right handguard bent so bad it caused the throttle to stick and restricted the area where your hand would go!

    These Handguards are JUNK!!!!!!

I am really pi$$ed that these are so Friggin weak and they were not cheap either! almost $100 bucks.

I will blast this product whenever someone asks about handguards!

She did great for her second ride on her Xmas gift! a lot of technical single track and a some tough uphill switchbacks that had me with both feet off the pegs and she climbed them like a pro!

Sadly, I have fallen over on my Cycra Probends quite a few times. I had the bike blow over at Rowher as well. Happily I can tell you that the only damage ever done is to scratch the plastic, which is replaceable at a very minimal cost so they look new again.

Having said all of that, and too keep the other Dudes at bay (don't want another war..), I will acknowledge that ANY model can bend.

Cycra ProBends all the way. I do have the "elephant ears" plastics. They are a bit big and can tend to look a little silly, but they sure do protect. I believe there are lower profile plastics for it. I may check into those next time, but the guards themselves are first rate.
