It is my understanding that particular weekend is the ONLY time it is open to the public.....all other times are for members only.

I'll be riding Sunday for sure; maybe Sat also.
The trails are great there. Mostly single track and hilly.

That is my old stomping ground before it became an "exclusive" place to ride where you have to pay $200+ for a permit...

I particuarly like "saw mill hill" those climbs are insane!

P.S. Winchester is where I was born and grew up...

Broke a big toe indeed. I hope its worse than that, he is a marine! J/K  .

I broke my ankle once and rode around on it for another 4 hours. I don't recomend it. :x I knew I was hurt. I knew something was wrong when I tried to take my boot off! It balloned up when I got it out and was already purple. But the boot was making it feel better than it was! I usually drove home in penny loafers. I tried that, but then I had to put the stupid boot back on to use my clutch on my truck to drive out! That was when I realized it was probably broke. I almost passed out putting the boot back on.. Stopped at the ER on the way home. They missed it. "You just sprained it Mr. Harris". I had to walk around on it for another 3 days. Then my boss asked why I was limping so bad. I showed her. She said, "go to another doctor, I'm pretty sure that is broke." She made me go right then. Of course it was broke. I norrowly escaped surgery that time. Ah, Memories. That is where I got the crutches I'm using now. (Never throw away crutches if you ride a bike!)

On the ride, it is absolutely open, consider yourself invited! It is kind of a CRFs only group ride. It is basically when ever that Dobent gets a weekend he can drive down here from Ohio. Then r0b and I pick some place in the SE Tennessee area. Last time they went to Turkey bay, up by Nashville. Heck, I'm was even going to bring a buddy on a YAMAHA, before I had to bow out last time.

Did you get to go to the TT ride? Was it good?

Yeah, I broke my big toe and tore some ligaments or something in my foot/ankle.

Let me know when yall are interested in riding as both me and my wife would love to go riding with the "crf's only" group!!

I am a little more than a week into my broke foot stuff and I just tried to get a sock on. It seems to be better but I am not able to ride yet. I would really like to get a 450X before riding again but I can defenitly use my 250R if I need to. My wife is still in the learning stage and so she and I might drag up the rear...

If you are interested in getting together somewhere in TN or Alabama for a ride PM me...Rob, you live pretty close to me and are familiar with the land at WestPoint... we could ride there or even go to a "pay to ride" place??

Keep me posted....I am in withdraw as both my bike and my wifes are at my parents right now. I couldn't unload them out of my truck with my foot so my father and brother unloaded them for me at my parents (about an hour north in TN from me)

That sounds great, just give me as much 'heads up' as possible. No, I did not make the Tenn 2 day ride, last week. I could not find anyone to drive up with me, and decide if I got hurt, it would be a tough drive back alone. I heard the weather was great.......fairly cool temps and lower humidity. Maybe we can get a cool weekend.

    Get ready Marine.

Where-abouts do you guys live in Tennesee? I live in Southern Tennesee around Chattanooga? That would be pretty sweet to be able to get a ride up and going.

Hey sprider welcome to the group.

We are getting a few riders from Chattanooga on the site: me, you, Hawk, Steve Dupuis. Cool.

I'm on Signal Mountain. There are some good Trails up here, but alas, I can't show them to you. I'm recovering from knee surgery. I hope to be riding this fall.

You should really try out Houston Valley ORV park and Prentice Cooper. Good riding. Houston is more fun, with Prentice being more like jeep trails. You can search on the internet and find out more about them

But stay in touch we will have to hook up sometime when I heal.

And to all, Im sure we will post that we are all planning on meeting to do our ride in the fall, we did before.

    Hey CB,

I've been to both of those places. Prentice Cooper is where I learned to ride just back in 2002. The trails were pretty nice then, but now the trails have been opened up so much. I haven't been back up there since last summer.

As to the Houston Valley, they also call it something else...can't recall the name. All I've out there is bad experiences. I have wrecked so hard out the only 2 times I've been. One time I went flying off a 10ft cliff into some trees because I had too much corner speed for the turn. Really I didn't know what I was doing then.
Then last summer, after racing a few harescrambles, I just liked to ride in race speed with a few of my buddies. And you know how rocky it is over there. I caught a rock just right and it slammed me to the ground, bent my handlebars, had to go the emergency room for my wrist. Luckily I didn't break it, but I've had problems with it ever since. Really sux!

Another place that's a really nice, but sometimes difficult to ride is the Coal Creek OHV in Oliver Springs, TN. Here's the website for it: www.coalcreekohv.com . It's also known as Windrock.

Yeah, we'll definitely have to get a ride together here in the future.
