Headed to Durhamtown next week for the first time. Anyone have any suggestions on any particular trails to look for. No kids, just two adult males who ride pretty aggressively.

Thx

All trails are color coded. I normally stick to the green trails. They are a little on the easy side though. They do have red and blue trails but i've never been on them.

Do you ride any MX? They have several MX tracks as well. Go over to their forums and Mike, the owner, or some of the regulars can probably give you some detailed info.

Just ride, you'll find them all. the beginner trail ("K Trail" I think) will meander through a good part of the park. It's a fairly wide, fire road type trail with periodic small jumps. You will find different trails branching off of it varying in difficulty. You'll have tons of fun. MX Track #5 is an insane outdoor style MX track; long and lots of fun. My favorite trail was the #6 New Loop and some of the attached trails. Just take a map with you.

Have fun and let us know what you think when you get back.

Durhamtown is great. Cross the road, hang a right and head down the entry trail. After that is is all you can eat. Trail B, G, K, all real good but different. The trails change all the time... I head down once a month, and it is still new every time i go...

have fun

I have never been there due to folks saying its SUPER crowded. I ride 30 miles north at Broad River ATV. Broad River did some commercials and now it is getting crowded. We used to be able to rent a cabin calling less than a week in advance, but now its up to a month in advance. Their new mx track is SICK. Some of the jumps will launch you into next week. Too scary my my old rear. I have killer job, dont need to break bones. I need a little milder track, and like BR's track out in the woods better. WHat is Y'alls opinion on DT vs BR??

I don't want to harp on it too much, but i have been to Broad River and DP is so much better. I road the track in back and it was o.k. at best. the big MX track is WAY too big for me. So i agree, no doubt.
Fridays are the best time to go from my experience. It can be crowded, but if you get there early on Saturdays it is still good. it is well worth the effort. the place is so big you can get lost even with lots of people there.

I keep hearing great things about the BR MX track. Anyone have any pics or better yet, video???

I have video on my camera!! Problem is, that I dont know how to transfer it to anything. I usually end up watching my son on the youth track there at BR which is right next to the big track and get movies of the guys launching their bikes 30ft over my head, and of course my attention goes to them, so I pan around and get them. If I ever go to BR without kids, I will take some pics up by the observation tower and get some of the whole track.

So, DT is better, eh? A friend of ours wants to go there some time. I am taking a week of during the kids spring break in April, so I may take the boys there to check it out during the week. How long in advance do you have to reserve a cabin???

DP is great, but have any of you tried this http://www.highlandparkresort.com/ , i swear this is the most fun place i`ve ever been. I don`t like riding MX, for me the tighter the trails the better and this place has some good ones. Like the tight ones at DP, but with hills.
