Riding at LEMP or Perris raceway

    by jetmech » Sun Nov 04, 2007 5:45 pm

Whats it like riding at LEMP or Perris? I'm new to the area and just got back into riding.

Is it a bunch of punks? semi-pros? Or a good mix where someone who just got back into it will fit in with no issues.

Also what is the required gear.

    Thanks for the help!!

I like both places.LEMP gets way less crowded in the afternoon You just never know what kind of people are going to be there.Mostly friendly, But you are going to find Dicks anywhere you go.

Gear: I wouldn't ride with out Helmet gloves boots and goggles.A chest protector is nice for roost protection.
Grant Langston roosted the crap out of me and it left marks

But at least you can say Grant Langston did it, and not just some kid that was out in front of you!!
We have two companies of Marines running rampant all over the northern half of this island, and three Army regiments pinned down in the southwestern corner, doing nothing. What the hell is going on?

I heard they require a neck brace? is that true. I have all the other gear.

When do you locals expect the OHV areas to open back up? Is there a usual timeframe?

The Grand Prix looks like a ton of fun, but unfortunately I'll be in Vegas for the Marine Corps Birthday Ball. For those of you that are going, PLEASE take a ton of pics for the rest of us!!! :D

LEMP and Perris along with Starwest are the main tracks my buddies and I ride. No neck brace required so far at all three. If you want to hit the 120' at Els it would probably be handy. We rode Starwest on Wed and they changed it for a big race coming up, not sure if it will stay that way. Perris recently changed the layout too now that the owners have changed it seems to be getting better every time. I am usually at one of the three every weekend and have met nothing but good people. Only bad thing is Perris went up to $25. Bottom line, LEMP has huge jumps, hard as concrete dirt and gets dusty. Starwest has nice dirt with fun jumps on a tight track but you probably won't see 3rd gear. Perris has nice dirt, the jumps are smaller, to me it is a longer Starwest.
