I am thinking about heading out to Ocotillo Wells SVRA tomorrow to do a little riding.

Would anyone care to join me?

I may spend the night, but that is unsure at this point.

PM or respond to this post.

    Ride Report-Ocotillo Wells 4/20-4/21

    by GhostX » Mon Apr 23, 2007 1:22 pm

Rode in Ocotillo Wells SVRA here in SoCal last Friday and Saturday. The weather reports called for a 70% chance of rain, and although we did get some wind in the afternoon, only a few sprinkles fell in the actual desert.

Riding conditions were great, with temps in the high sixties to low seventies. Partly cloudy skies, that opened up for a little sun in the mid day.

There were a few people there on Fri., with the bulk of the crowd arriving Fri nite/Sat morning.

I rode from Main St. over to the Salton Sea and had a great time, stopping at Shell Reef and the mud pot area.

Posted below is a shot of the wash I rode out to the Salton Sea-which by the way, is a polluted mud bog with lots of dead fish.

I am planning on goin back out in a couple of weeks.....so for those interested, let me know.

    ...crossroads in the desert....

...mud from the Salton Sea (very green, and not to pleasant for the nose.)

,,and finally, riding the next day in the hills of Warner Springs.
Riding here was COLD, my hands were freezing! Got home and bought Fox Thermalpaws, AND ordered handguards.

Very much needed respite from the day to day grind! :D
