    Miller Canyon Saturday

    by NCLR1 » Tue Mar 13, 2007 3:40 pm

My brother-in-law and I are going to ride around the Silverwood area on Saturday. We are going to stage at Miller Canyon if anyone is interested in meeting up. Last time we went there was a local rider with us who took us back across the 15 to a very crazy hill climb. I would quess it is about 700 - 800 feet high and at an extreme angle. One of these trips I am going to take a crack at it.

We might be able to join you, my husband just sold his bike and will be purchasing his new one in a few days if that all goes smoothly we will all be there. Myself ,DH, and two sons. What time are you going to be there? We are coming from the O.C. I think I remember you are from Temecula area. My boys love big hills so you will have to work yourself up to riding the " big one "

Not sure. I will check and let ya know. If I had to guess, I would say it's a little late in the red sticker season. But, don't give up hope.

I just checked and it says red stickers are OK until April 30th. The area is called Lytle Creek or Lake Arrowhead. It depends on who you ask cause they are close. But it is managed by the USFS, so you can find some info on their site too. It's in the San Bernadino Forest. I will PM you some directions. What are of OC are you coming from?

Thank you for the red sticker info. I was having the same problem with the phone service down in the forest service system.

I had a great time. Thanks for hanging out with us. Let me know the next time you ride and hopefully my son and I can meet you. Are you going to post some of the pics you took? If not, could you email me some copies?

How is your hand feeling and how did the rest of the day go?

I did post some pictures on general discusion under "post a picture" we didn't take very many but will e-mail what we have. You and your son, wife and baby are welcome to join us anytime. The boys really enjoyed your riding skills.

Those Rhinos that crashed on the trail came back, their restrengths were torn out from the roll over. That was their first time out. I guess you need full safety gear with those monsters too. I wonder if it was that same quad that ran me down.

We didn't stay much longer because the ranger came and checked for spark arrestors and being that Jeff just bought his bike the spark arrestor is on order. He was nice, just said don't ride today.

Did you guys have fun at Stoddard Wells....Get rid of a little need for speed?? That little girl could really ride, was she able to keep up with you guys?
