California, Northeastern Ca. and Reno NV

    by MXHJosh » Thu Nov 23, 2006 8:28 am

I'm looking for some people in the NorthEastern California/ Reno NV. are who want to ride. I normally ride on weekdays which is a chellenge for most, but if this is you, maybe we can meet up for a ride, I hate riding alone which happens most of the time.

I want to ride track and get in some training as I plan to start racing again soon.

I'm in Susanville, Ca. which is about 85 miles Northwest of Reno NV. I understand there are about 5 tracks in and around the Reno area. I have only trails in my area, but I would prefer to put time in on a MX track. The closest track to me is Honey Lake MX www.honeylakemx.com but they do not allow practice and are only open on race days.

I plan to start racing again late spring thru summer so getting track time will be important to me. I've ridden trails most of my life with the exception of some racing in H.S. and to be honest, I am quite burned out on trailriding for now and would rather save the wear and tear on my machine for a type of riding that I'll be excited about.

Anyone that's in the area, or wants to go ride track, get a hold of me, or post in this topic and we'll try to work something out.

Yep, this about the same response I get when asking someone in person. I'm just going to sell my bike and gear, I've been riding alone for 2 years hoping to find a riding partner.

Yeah, MX a lot of us don't visit this location regularly. What do you ride? Never mind I looked at your website and see that you have a 450R. What kind of riding do you do? Track, trails, etc? There is a fairly good contingent of Northern Cali riders that frequent here, some from Nevada, Idaho, etc. You should move you question into the 450R or 450X area if things don't pick up here.

Josh, give a little more info! where do you ride now? where would you like to ride? How far are you willing to drive to ride? Is it just track riding or do you like trail riding? Where do you live exactly?

I think you might find more responses if you do a new header and include answers to those questions! ;)

I live in Sacramento. I do not ride track but have some great trails to ride not far from Auburn, Ca.

If you have some great trails to ride, myself and some of the other Nor/Cal boys would probably drive up to 2 1/2 hoursto ride.

Thanks for the tips Instigator, I've put more description in the header. Hopefully I can find someone who will not flake out on me at the last minute. IDK, I have requests on several forums, so I guess I'll just wait and see who bites. I just hate so much to ride alone, if I don't get anything soon I'll trade the bike for a golf cart and take up beer drinking and golf.

    .......
I'm guessing with the JD jetting kit, a freed up exhaust and intake, and maybe a Hot Cam, you could make the the golf cart thing work. Don't waste your money on a set of golf clubs though they're overrated and are the real root of many a golf cart drivers BP problems.

Ok, maybe I'll keep the bike and swap the engine into my golf cart, then in case I change my ming, I could swap it back into the bike :) yeah IDK, I'd kick myself if I sold everything, I'm just bummed out, riding alone sucks cause I can't take any chances, so I end up with a highly inefective training session. I may as well train to putt around cause that's usually how I end up riding with nobody around to help. I appreciate you guuys funning around with me, it's lifted my spirits a little, but I still need a partner. hopefully I can find someone who wants to ride 3 times a week, I'd be thrilled about that! but right now I'll settle for a partner for once a week rides.
