Was curious if anyone knows of any trails near Palomar Mountain, Pala or just the north San Diego county area in general. I have found plenty of mountain bike trails, but not really any OHV type trails.

Thanks!

Jim,
I don't know of any trails but Amago MX track is on La jolla Indian res. It's a fun place to ride with a good vet track.Give it a try.

Thanks Danny!

Another vet track would be nice. The one at Elsinore is the only track I have ever ridden, but it is just way too over crowded.

Almost all trails near Palomar Mountain are on private property these days. The forest roads for the most part are open to street licensed vehicles only, so if you got a dual sport, there IS an awesome route to the top and back down to sunshine summit

That's a bummer so much is privately owned. You can drive from the 15 to Julian on the 79 and see so many areas, it makes you just want to pull over and ride.

I believe I know the trail you are talking about that goes to the summit. If I am correct, you can pick it up near Willow Springs. I took my mountain bike on it, saw a truck with farm workers drive by on the road and figured if the truck was legal, a street licenced dirt bike should be legal as well. I got tired pedaling up, saw a rattlesnake and high tailed it back down the mountain. If I can get my bike plated, I will look for it sometime.

Thanks!
