1st Annual RIDEtoWALK held in Ocotillo Wells
We arrived in Ocotillo Wells on Thursday around noon with a broken leaf spring on the trailer. I want to thank
West Coast Trailer out of Riverside for sending 2 guys out to fix it on Friday IN CAMP even though I was 1 full year out of warranty. In the market for a Toy Hauler ? Please give Tim your business.

I found Art from RiderDown in camp when I arrived. He made the 9 hour drive in time to greet Yoda and I when we pulled in.
Camp continued to grow all day Friday until we had about 60 people in camp. We had about 10 more roll in Saturday just for the Poker Run. Yoda pulled out the new RiderDown Ts and Hats for the folks and we got registration underway. The rolling check points with ride leaders carrying Playing Cards and Sharpies worked nicely ! I recommend it. We just handed out a strip of duct tape for a score card.
Everyone made it back to camp with only one bike needing retrieval due to breakage. Jimmy's (Smiley) buddy won the Saturday Poker Run and donated the prize money back. More about other winners below...
Our spaghetti dinner was a hit... especially the garlic cheese bread ! LOL Then we sent Yolanda out on a buggy ride while Joan & John broke out the fantastic surprise birthday cake made to look like her Honda 300 Quad and our famous lighted Palm Tree. This thing was amazing and took 14 cakes to make. Yoda was fighting back tears BIG TIME. We sang... she cried... The trick candles would not blow out... we all laughed... LOL
Then we broke out the surround sound and flat screen for the Saturday night movie showing of Spiderman 3... after which we had a little fireworks show.
The Sunday Poker Run was just one group of 10 but we had a blast. Greg fell out early due to his 2 stroke misfiring... We made our way out to Superstition without event. On the way back Art decided to show us how the Leatt Neck Brace works that RiderDown is now selling. I thought he was going for a pass on me in the wash but then he just up and threw himself off the bike and did some fancy brake-dancing in front of me. LOL
All kidding aside he did go sown pretty hard. But the Doctor has since cleared him of any broken bones. He'll be sore for a bit but is OK otherwise. After cleaning sand out of every orifice Art manned up and finished the last 10 miles back to camp and got to bed early. Poor guy had to drive home the next morning. Art is a GREAT guy and we are all very glad he is relatively OK from his thumping. :2thumbs:
