Ken you going to throw down for a titanium spring? My vote will go to any top notch suspension company, rg3, factory conn, Race-tech etc.
Life's tough, but it is even tougher when you're stupid.

Any reputable suspension company should work. The turn around time on my suspension was 3 days and they are only 30 minutes from Ken's place.

Factory Connection also has that trick looking red spring which really looks good. I called to add it to mime but it was already on its way back. They were quick. Smashed has one.

    RG3, Racetech, or Enzo.

Pro Circuit and MB1 all good, but motocross is their element.

Whether it be RG3, Race Tech, Factory Connection or any other shop; the important thing is not so much just getting the correct spring rates, valving or bling, but finding a shop that understands the rider's abilities and type of riding to be done. Then, using that information, work with the rider on the correct setup. It should be an iterative process and not just a "slap it in and ride" deal. One of the best guys in the business to understand this is Mike Battista of MB1 suspension. The guy is a Showa guru like none other. He's worth a nod here.

nowazzu makes a good point about mike and his showa background. he still has close ties there and has access to showa works parts and information. i don't fit the profile of a 180lb. rider (i'm 6'3" 230lbs) so the testing and tweaking of the suspension for that sized rider might be tough. these DR testers get enough bikes that aren't spot on for them and they'll tweak the adjusters to suit. the main thing as nawazzu mentions is valving and spring rates which any of the names mentioned here can handle.

Suspension is the very first item on my list of importance. While stock is good, you don't know what you are missing if you haven't had your suspension dialed in for your weight, style and type of riding.

I'm really suprised at the absence of Pro Circuit on everyones list ... PC knows off road. They are far from a strictly track outfit. Very close to Ken and might be interested in the additional publicity of this magazine bike. Payton's background was off road. His injury was from desert racing, Cal City I think.

Clearly I am the lone wolf here, but I have had them do several of my bikes and I have always been very pleased. Their work on my X is no different.

I also have the red spring cup, red bearing spanner on the shock and the red oversized shock bladder. Definately skip the bladder as it does make some contact with the exhaust and makes excessive heat. I'm going to be taking it back to get the stock one installed. Also, the parts are available seperately if a decision is made to go to another company such as MB1.
