Lost a friend .... The world lost a legend ..

    by JimDirt » Tue Apr 27, 2021 1:19 am

Dick Mann ..... He died today ... He was 86

Him and I at Clay Peak where I ride all the time (this was taken around 09) one of the nicest guys I ever knew .. and a honest legend in the world of moto .. MX , Trials , Flat Track , A.M.A. Grand National , Motorsports and Motorcycle hall of fame ...... He designed Broom Tioga ... , in the first picture he has a scarf around his throat , because he had a Stoma (a tube in his throat to breath) and he still rode MX and Trials , the scarf was to keep the dirt out ... you can't get more tough than that ...

Cool Neil .... Yea , there was not anyone who met him who was not touched in some way by him or inspired by him or that did not respect him ... I was hoping when my buddy who was running the track I ride at and was when Dick was there (in my picture) , was going to be able to get another track going before he died and get Dick to show up (which he would have) .... When I told my friend he died , he was devastated , and that was the first thing he mentioned , was he had been looking for a place that Dick would approve of and be able to get it going and have him show up .. ... .... He is still going to do that , but it won't be the same ..

I hate to say, I have been involved in motorcycles on & off road since the age of 13 and I do not know anything about the gentleman - But he certainly sounds like he was one of the "Good Ones" !!! Rest in piece Sir.
