    Tyres

    by Johancrf » Sat Apr 24, 2021 4:07 am

Does anyone have any idea what I can do to get off road tyres on my 250.
It currently have 130 70 17 on the back and 110.70 17 on the front. There don't seem to be any off road tyres availible on these sizes. I was thinking of maybe buying 19" and 21" tyres with wheels but scared buying and the fittings are different and wasting my money.
Any recommendations will be much appreciated. Preferably from someone that did this already and know exactly what to do. Not looking for guess work. I can do that myself 😂

Welcome to the site !! \:D/

You did not mention what bike .... :-k

For 17 in that size , you could convert the numbers to the old school system , which would be around a (rear) 500-510/80-90-17 or 120/100-17 and (front) 400-410-17 or 100/90-17 or something close to your specs , so what I would look for is Vintage bike tires (60's-70's when they commonly used 17 inch wheels) , maybe Kenda K-760 Trakmaster 2 , they make that in a 130/90-17 and a 100-17 for the front , or IRC Enduro Tires VE-35F / VE-33 , they make them in or close to your sizes as well , they are both knobby' s , and about the closest you can get to your size and not be a Adventure tire , they both make the fronts as well

But you need to look for Vintage bike tires as there are tons of people doing Vintage racing and some of the classes require tires that would be era correct , that is where you will find 17's and something you can work with ...
