I am somewhat new to dirt biking.
I currently have a 2016 230. I am looking at upgrading to a 250 rx.
A couple questions.
Is there a huge difference in power?
Would I see enough of a power difference without going to a 450?

If you are "somewhat new" to dirt bikes , I would not recommend a RX , it is a "RACE BIKE" , not a "Trail Bike" , the RX was built for GNCC type racing , it does not like going slow , nor does it like clutch abuse and is far from a entry level bike.......

What I would recommend is a 250X (You did not mention if you want a brand new model or a used bike) , it would better suit you getting going on a bigger bike (specifically Honda's) ,the newer 250 R is pretty much like the RX except it lacks the kickstand and has stiffer suspension (jumping) , other than that they are very similar , just mapping changes and a 18" rear wheel (RX) compared to the R with a 19"

You also did not specify what type of riding you would be doing , again , for trail , Honda unfortunately does not offer the 250X any longer , though they may add it back in 2022 and update it like they did the 450X (or not) .....

If you plan on learning track riding , then I would say the 250R or RX , but again , I would not recommend either of those if the goal is trail riding , especially slower stuff .... but for the track , either would be fine , you would just need to learn how to deal with the power and handling characteristics ,which would be completely different from the 230 by leaps and bounds ...

Need some more info to try to steer you in the right direction ... and possibly to another brand , depending on goals ,and skill , as another brand might suit your needs better ...... again , this all depends on what your plans are
