    Hello

    by bdf0516 » Fri Aug 07, 2020 8:19 pm

I wanted to say hello to everyone.
I'm a long time motocross enthusiast. Rode Hondas when I was younger. The last of which was a early 90s CR125.
I sold that bike and haven't been on one since. Over 20 years.
My brother and I agreed (over some drinks) earlier this year we would get bikes and start riding again. I never believed we would actually do it.
    A few months later here we are. He has a 2012 RMZ250 and I have a 2006 CRF250R.
Neither of us have ever rode anything larger than a 125 until now.
I'm so glad we actually went through with it. I love this bike! Its big, but very easy to ride. Throttle control is so much better than the 125 two stroke I rode back then.
Can't wait to gain more experience and start riding tracks again.
For now I'll practice on the farm. Opening it up on lanes and controlling the bike at higher speeds over rutted fields.
I'm 5'6" so I had to shave the seat to be able to even touch tip toes. But I can start it without the stand now.

Glad to be here! And it feels awesome to be riding again. I'm 45 years old. Everyone I know is scared for my life. LOL
None of them ever rode bikes. Only quads and sleds. They don't get it. I've never really rode anything but bikes. I don't feel comfortable on anything else.

Anyways, glad to have joined this message board. I plan on doing most or all of the maintenance and repairs on both of our bikes. So I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions in the near future.

    Welcome to the site.
Always good to get back on bikes. Yes, you will find the modern 4 strokes are much easier to ride than the older 2 strokes. Modern 2 strokes have come a long way also. Much better than the old days. Other than the weight the 4 strokes are super rider friendly.
Take your time, wear protective gear and enjoy the ride.
The crew is always here for any questions when you get into the maintenance times.
