    Bike type: 450X
    Front tire: Dunlop 742
    Front tire psi:19
Rear tire: Dunlop 803-07/03/2007 Maxxis IT
    Rear tire psi:14
    Location: Nor Cal
Type of terrain: Rocky, shale, sand
Comments: 742 washes easy, 803 too much throttle equals not much life. No comment on the new tire./ Maxxis has had great traction and has lasted very well. Ordered the Terraflex 150/100/18. Will have it next week.

Comments: 739AT is not so good in loam. It rocks in rocks.

    Bike type: 2006 450R
    Front tire: D756
Front tire psi: 12-14 (depends on riding location)
    Rear tire: D952
Rear tire psi: 12-14 (depends on riding location)
    Location: Midwest
Type of terrain: Hardpack/River Sand/Farm Dirt
Comments: Both tires have been good. Rear has some chunking, but still holds pretty good. Will probably give the Maxxis a try next. Satisfied with both tires.

756 is a good rear knobby tire for riding conditions in So. Oregon.

    Bike type: 2005 450X
Front tire: Pirelli MT-18 HD HD tube
    Front tire psi: 15
Rear tire: Dunlop 739AT HD tube
    Rear tire psi: 15
    Location: So cal dez, mountains
Type of terrain: Rocks, sand, rocks, hard pack, rocks
Comments: Best combo so far, the stock front 742 was junk, the Pirelli sticks better, stiffer sidewall.
I shreddded the stock 756 on rocks, although it still stayed beaded, The 739AT is stiffer also, good wearing.

    Bike type: 2007 CRF150R
Front tire: Dunlop 756 w/ kenda tuff tube
    Front tire psi: 13.5-14.5
Rear tire: Dunlop 756 w/ kenda tuff tube
    Rear tire psi: 13.5-14.5
    Location: Souther Wisconsin
Type of terrain: Mud, Hard Pack, rough/choppy
Comments: Since the track I ride on can be super muddy, very hard pack, or rough and choppy after the races, the 756 is a pretty good tire. With approximatly 70 hours on these, both tires are becoming very worn. I'm planning to try the D745's since about 90% of the time the track is hard pack. The 756's wear pretty evenly, no big chunks but some little chunks.

Comments: Going to upgrading very soon to either the Pirelli MXS or the Michelin Starcross Sand 4 in the rear. The front sticks pretty good on this loose stuff for now.

    Tire Selection

    by sc409 » Thu Sep 20, 2007 10:31 pm

Ready to buy tires for an 06 450x, ride Mexico, hard pack and rocks in the summer, mud in the winter. From the threads, see alot of Maxis, etc.

Question: We get lots of flats, 3 to 4 in 500 miles, too many broken beer bottles on the side of the roads, which tire is easier to change if such a thing exist? The bead on the stock tire is a little tough, and I'm tired or riding out on flats for 20 miles. thanks for any input. :D

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll go with these, and I get the stiff sidewalls and bead problems. thanks again, Looks like riding out on a flat front is still an option until I perfect the 20 min tire change. I'll zip tie the back on the rim.

Ok I'm looking for a rear tire for my 450r.I ride mostly in the woods with a mixture of mud, logs, rocks and sand. I'm not so much wanting good traction as I am wanting a tire that will almost never where out.
Question: is the Dunlop739AT a good choice, and what should I put up front?
