    CRF230F or CRF250X?

    by 97xj » Fri Jun 08, 2007 10:00 pm

Hi. My riding will be off-road. I’m 5’10 and weigh 165. Which should I go with CRF230F or CRF250X?

    Thanks in advance.

It depends on your ridding experience. Are your trails long and open, or are they in the trees. Will you work on the bike yourself. What are your personal preferences.

230 great for a "general purpose" type ride ...

250 X is absolutely f'ing fantastic if you want a bike that will just so blow you away in it's ability to compensate for your lack of ability ... oh and I have a 250 X and I am not biased and Honda did not finacially induce me ....

Hey. Thanks for the replies. I'm mostly going to use it on trails with lots of trees. They are long trails too. I’m just going out cruising in the woods. No racing.

I haven’t given it much thought about working on the bike. Do you mean mods? I think I’m going to keep everything stock. If the bike breaks down I don’t mind getting my hands dirty.

I like to off-road at night, should I consider the XR650L instead? Or should I just get the CRF230F or CRF250X and just get the light mod?

    Decisions, decisions…

I would say to go for the 250X.

Comes with a light, and at your size you would fit it fine, you may have to tippy toe it though

If you have the budget for the 250X... you'll like the suspension A LOT more.

If you're willing to spend a little more on maintenance, the 250X is your bike. You will probably find that the advantage in performance will far outweigh the extra money you will have to spend on maintenance
